Late gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu met her husband at a programme where she sang, her sister Favour Made has revealed.
Osinachi reportedly died as a result of cluster of blood in the chest on Friday, April 8 in an undisclosed hospital in Abuja. She is alleged to have suffered domestic violence for years in the marriage that produced four children — three boys and a girl.
Favour told Vanguard that Nwachukwu fell in love with her sister while she was singing at a programme.
“It was where they went for a programme. Nwachukwu saw how my sister was ministering, he then fell in love with her,” she said.
Favour further revealed that Nwachukwu, a native of Nnewi in Anambra State, did not have any known job to her.
According to her, Nwachukwu acted as his wife’s de facto manager.
“Yes, he acts as one. If my sister is booked for a programme, the money charged for the programme is paid into his account. He is the one that will negotiate the price. All monies were paid into his account and my sister will be left with little or nothing,” Favour said.
She claimed that the man spat on his wife one time she refused to give him the password to her YouTube channel.
Favour further said that since Osinachi got married to Nwachukwu, she never visited her paternal village, Isuochi, in Abia State, adding that Nwachukwu alienated her from her family and friends.
Osinachi last visited her paternal village when her father died in 2017, she said.
Favour also revealed that Nwachukwu waited for hours before notifying the family of his wife’s death. She said Osinachi died that Friday afternoon, the family learnt of it around 5pm from a friend of Osinachi while Nwachukwu called the family around 8pm.
