Actress Adunni Ade has revealed how veteran actor Ramsey Nouah inspired her decision to relocate to Nigeria and pursue a career in Nollywood.
During a recent appearance on Hip TV’s Trending, hosted by KimOprah, Adunni revealed her deep admiration for Nouah and shared how a conversation with him became the turning point that shifted her focus from modeling in America to acting in Nigeria.
“Ramsey Nouah was the one who gave me the final push to move to Nigeria. I met him before relocating, and after discussing my goals and dreams with him, he gave me such an encouraging pep talk. That was when I decided to make the move,” she recounted.
Despite her admiration for Nouah, Adunni disclosed that years passed without the opportunity to work with him.
“I relocated in 2011, and despite always looking up to him, I hadn’t worked with him until recently. At a film festival, I saw him and greeted him, like I always did,” she said.
To her surprise, the next day, she received an unexpected phone call from producer Chris, one of Nouah’s close friends.
“Chris called me and said, ‘Adunni, what did you do to Ramsey? He just cast you in a role!’ I was shocked and had goosebumps. Working with Ramsey on set was an incredible experience,” she recalled.
Adunni praised Nouah’s versatility and professionalism, saying, “I’ve had the privilege of seeing him as Ramsey Nouah the human being, the director, and the co-actor. He’s just an exceptional person.”
Since moving to Nigeria in 2011, Adunni landed her first Nollywood role in 2013 in the Yoruba-language film You or I.
She has since featured in over 250 Nollywood films, in both English and Yoruba languages, solidifying her place in the industry.
