How retired immigration CG David Parradang was found dead in Abuja hotel room – Police

David Parradang retired immigration CG

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has debunked reports suggesting that retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service David Parradang was kidnapped and killed in Abuja.

An earlier publication alleged that Mr Parradang was trailed from a bank in the Area 1 axis of Abuja, robbed of cash and subsequently murdered. However, in a statement released by the FCT Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh the command dismissed the claims as false and provided details surrounding his death.

According to the police, Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel, located at Area 3 Junction, on Monday, March 3, at approximately 12:00 pm. He arrived in a black Mercedes Benz and paid ₦22,000 for a one-night stay.

Shortly after checking in, Parradang instructed the hotel attendant to escort a female visitor to his room. The woman reportedly left the hotel around 4:00 pm. Parradang remained in his room and was not seen exiting afterward.

At about 4:00 am on March 4, a friend of Parradang, a military officer concerned about his whereabouts, traced him to the hotel. The officer, along with the hotel receptionist, entered his room and found Parradang seated in a chair, unresponsive.

The Durumi Police Station was notified, and officers promptly arrived at the scene. They secured the area, documented the incident with photographs, and collected relevant evidence to preserve the integrity of the investigation. Parradang’s body was subsequently transferred to the National Hospital for further examination.

The police confirmed that hotel staff are cooperating with ongoing investigations and assured the public that the case is being thoroughly investigated to determine the cause of death.

The command also urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information and emphasized its commitment to uncovering the truth.
