Convicted fraudster Ramon Abass, popularly known as Hushpuppi has led the interlude of rapper Nelson Azubuike, also known as Phyno’s newly released track ‘Nwoke Esike.’

This collaboration comes as a surprise, especially after Phyno and Hushpuppi’s public fallout in 2017.

Phyno released his fifth studio album, Full Time Job on Friday, building on the success of his previous works including Something To Live For (2021), Deal With It (2019), The Playmaker (2016) and his debut album No Guts No Glory (2014).

The album blends Phyno’s unique style, mixing indigenous Igbo sounds with modern global influences.

Before the album dropped, Phyno had teased fans with the single ‘Time of My Life,’ featuring British rapper ArrDee.

His tracklist for the album revealed on Nigeria’s Independence Day, includes works with notable artistes like Cheque, Flavour, Burna Boy and Johnny Drille.

Hushpuppi, currently serving a prison sentence in the United States for his role in a large-scale international fraud scheme appears on track five of the album. His unexpected involvement has sparked widespread reactions across social media.

Phyno masterfully weaves together various sounds on Full Time Job. The choral elegance of ‘Nwoke Esike,’ the highlife-infused ‘Men Don Show Face’ and the amapiano vibes of ‘Back Outside’ highlight his versatility.

He also dips into R&B with ‘Deep’ and delivers a more soulful sound with ‘Sweet Karma’.
