Actor Onny Michael has responded to those accusing him of not mourning his colleague Junior Pope, saying that he administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the deceased who died in a boat accident.
Junior Pope passed away on the night of April 10 after several attempts to resuscitate him failed. The actor alongside make-up artist Abigail Frederick, and the production crew; Friday, Olanti and Precious drowned in Anam River on their way back from the set of Another Side of Life, a movie produced by Adanma Luke.
Speaking in a recent Instagram live session, Onny lashed out at those accusing him of not showing concern after he shared a behind-the-scenes clip from his latest film on his Instagram page.
The actor whose real name is Michael Onuchukwu stated that he played a vital role in ensuring that Junior Pope came back to life by administering CPR but there was blood in his mouth and the doctor prevented him from making further attempts to save Junior Pope after his organs shut down.
He said: “You people did not know what I passed through the day JP died, I was the one who carried him. I was the one who was doing CPR on him. Is it because I didn’t post his picture that makes me a bad person?
“So I cannot post any other thing? I know what I did, you guys were not there, you were just listening to all the rubbish they were writing on social media. I carried JP from 12 o’clock to three midnight with my colleagues. We were there in the hospital running around to make sure he came back alive.
“Do you know what we suffered to make sure our guy came to life? The people who made sure JP came back to life those people are not talking.
“I was the one who jumped on the truck when the body was brought out of the water I was doing CPR when I wanted to co mouth to mouth there was blood on his mouth I wanted to clean it but the doctor told me wait we’ve checked it, all the system has shut down.”
Junior Pope got married to his partner Jennifer Awele in 2014 and they are blessed with three children.
