Actor Yul Edochie has paid a short tribute to the late Prophet TB Joshua, founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) to commemorate the one-year anniversary of his death.
Joshua died on Saturday, June 5, 2021, exactly a week before his 58th birthday.
In a message shared on Instagram on June 7, 2022, Yul Edochie stated that even though the SCOAN leader died a year ago, he still cannot believe he is gone.
The 40-year-old added that he misses the prophet and will continue to celebrate Joshua’s life on earth.
He wrote: “I still can’t believe you’re gone. It’s one year already. God knows best. I miss you. I’ll continue to celebrate your life on earth. Rest well Sir. SNR. PROPHET T.B JOSHUA.”
Yul Edochie’s aunty, actress Rita Edochie attended TB Joshua’s memorial service at the mega-church in Lagos alongside fellow actor Jerry Amilo and controversial preacher Prophet Chukwuemeka Odumeje.
Rita, who went live on Instagram to capture the event, could be seen trying to hold back her tears as the choir sang in honour of the late SCOAN leader.
In the video, she said: “Alot of people are actually crying, I’m holding myself not to cry, but he is gone, he is gone, he is gone to be with our lord Jesus Christ. The lord’s general, they are not plenty in the world.
“All the lord’s general, they don’t last, they don’t stay long. Once they come and do what they are supposed to do, they are gone. Senior prophet TB Joshua, he is gone, God’s general, he is gone. May he keep resting in the lord.”
The one-week funeral was watched by millions of people around the world via SCOAN’s Emmanuel TV.
The disciples and former senior members of the late mentor who could not attend the memorial service paid tributes to Joshua via their social media pages.
Prophetesses Yinka and Anne also went on a charity drive at an undisclosed location in Lagos. They distributed bags of rice and cash to indigent and disable people.
