Former Director-General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Joe Abah, has revealed that he left public service because he could no longer afford to live on the salary.
Dr Abah told a Twitter user on Monday who requested to know how he avoided engaging in fraud.
He said: “I went into the public service to SERVE, not to steal. When I could no longer afford to live on the salary, I finished my 1st tenure and left.
“In the private sector, I charge a very high fee for my knowledge, ability and skills and that removes the temptation to engage in fraud.”
Abah is currently a consultant on donor support and grants to Ebonyi State Government.
