Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe, has admitted that she used to have a crush on singer, 2Face, who is now known as 2Baba.
The 42-year-old made the confession when the singer’s 2004 song, ‘African Queen’, came on during an Instagram Live session with comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka.
She said, ”Don’t tell anybody o. For a very long time, I had a crush on 2baba.”
The mother of two cited fellow actresses, Liz Benson and Sola Sobowale as her role models and said she has looked up to even before she started acting.
“Coming into the industry, there were two people I admired a lot – Liz Benson and Sola Sobowale. Liz Benson was just so beautiful and she still is. I absolutely loved her back then. I also loved the way Sola Sobowale interpreted her roles. She inspires me whenever I see her on a movie set,” she said.
Mercy also credited her mother her for instilling in her the qualities of consistency and doggedness which have helped shape her into the woman she is today.
“I learnt being dogged from my mum. She is a very strong woman, who never gives up. She is very consistent and hardworking. I believe that whatever one wants to do, one has to keep at it until one succeeds,” she said.
