Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has stated that he did not kneel to propose marriage to his wife, May.
The 38-year-old revealed this in an interview with Pulse Nigeria published on Saturday.
He explained that he did not kneel because his wife, whom he married in 2004, did not ask him to.
“I didn’t kneel because I didn’t have to. My wife didn’t ask me to kneel,” he said.
Yul seems to agree with his father, Pete Edochie, who said that men who kneel to propose, are going against the African culture, though he does not think it matters in the long run.
“To a large extent, the man (Pete Edochie) is right. It’s not our culture… but it’s really no big deal. It doesn’t change anything,” he said.
Pete Edochie, 72, recently criticised young men who kn&heel to propose marriage to their partners, calling them ‘idiots’.
