Former senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, says he does not believe that Boko Haram captive, Leah Sharibu, is dead.
Grace Taku, an aid worker kidnapped by Islamic insurgents, had claimed that Sharibu, alongside one Alice, was killed because of the Federal Government of Nigeria’s inability to “do something”.
However, Sani countered the aid worker’s claim in a tweet on Thursday, saying he does not believe Sharibu is dead.
Sani was in 2013 appointed by then President Goodluck Jonathan into a Federal Government National Committee to Dialogue with the Boko Haram insurgents.
He turned down the offer on the ground that his previous recommendation was not followed.
The 51-year-old is now a critic of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Nasir el-Rufai of his home state, having fallen out with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
