Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson has dismissed reports that she has cancer.
The 38-year-old stated this in a video on Saturday, following speculation that followed her statements in the latest edition of her show Mercy’s Menu.
Mercy had told fellow actress Joke Silva, who was her guest on the show, that she once had a cancer scare because of a problem with her thyroid.
Thanking those who have called and sent her messages after the reports came out, the mother of four said in the video posted on Instagram on Saturday that “I do not have cancer.”
She said the clip from her show was cut and taken out of context.
Mercy reaffirmed that she had a problem with her thyroid and showed a mark on her neck left by the operation done to remove the gland.
“I am perfectly okay. Thank you so much for all of your calls, your messages. All these phones have been buzzing like crazy. I am perfectly fine and do not have cancer,” she said.
Her husband appeared in the video and made a loving gesture at her.
Mercy ended by urging people to watch the full video of her show with Joke Silva.
“I do not have cancer in Jesus’ name. Thank you guys,” she concluded.
