Afrobeats singer Joseph Donus, popularly known as Joeboy, has opened up about his relationship deal breakers, stating that he dislikes women who talk excessively or seek validation on social media.
Speaking in an interview with Zikoko, the singer clarified that he has no problem with women who are expressive but draws the line at those who “talk too much.”
“I don’t like girls that talk too much… I don’t mean girls that are expressive. Being expressive is different from talking too much. Some people just talk too much, and I don’t like that,” he said.
Joeboy also listed his red flags in a relationship, pointing out that constant social media validation and comparison with other couples are major turn-offs.
“If she is always posting for validation or saying, ‘Oh, this person is doing this in their relationship, why don’t we do this?’” he added.
Despite his deal breakers, Joeboy revealed that he is currently in a relationship and appreciates his partner’s sense of humor.
The ‘Alcohol’ singer had previously disclosed in February 2023 that he has been in a committed relationship for over three years but prefers to keep his partner’s identity private.
“I do have a girlfriend as a responsible man, we’ve been together for like 2-3 years. I would put a ring on it when I’m ready, no pressure. Her identity will remain a mystery.
Everyone can keep wondering who she is,” he said at the time.
