Afrobeats singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has revealed that she often dislikes her songs after recording them, feeling they could have been better.

The Mavin Records artiste made the revelation in an interview with Rolling Stone, stating that she always strives for perfection in her music.

“I usually don’t like my songs after recording. It’s so bad. I don’t even know why. I just feel like it can get better and better, and I just keep trying to go, go, go until it’s perfect,” she said.

However, Ayra Starr noted that her hit song ‘Woman Commando,’ featuring Anita and Coco Jones, is an exception.

“‘Woman Commando’ was that song that I was like, okay, I went crazy on this one. This is dope,” she added.

The Rush crooner has previously spoken about her musical influences, listing SZA, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, and Rema among the artists she listens to in her free time.

Ayra Starr is known for hit songs such as ‘Rush,’ ‘Bloody Samaritan,’ ‘Away,’ ‘Sability’ and ‘Fashion Killer.’
