Presiding bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide aka Winners Chapel David Oyedepo on Thursday said he has been silent on issues affecting Nigeria in recent times because he warned against them in 2015.
Oyedepo stated this during his sermon at the third day of Shiloh, the church’s annual programme.
The clergyman said that Nigeria needs a deliverer at this time, not a leader.
“…I am prompted to pray for the nation. I was praying to God and he told me to pray for a deliverer in Nigeria. What Nigeria needs is a deliverer and not a leader,” he said.
“There is nothing that is remaining in the nation except the church. The only thing of value is the church. What event can bring 50 nations together in Nigeria? A large number of people are also at the Redemption Camp.
“The economy is dying and money distributors are busy distributing money. I could not watch the video of a human being set on fire and many do not care what is happening to anybody. I saw all of these and I warned Nigerians in 2015. I was not seeking for any post.”
Oyedepo later led the church in prayers for a deliverer so that Nigeria may have “rest”.
Presidential candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi and some traditional rulers were in attendance.
