Rapper, MI Abaga, says he initially ‘hated’ the way basketball icon, Kobe Bryant, played until one game against the Celtics.
The 38-year-old said this on Monday in a tribute to Kobe who died alongside his daughter Gianna and seven others in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, US on Sunday.
“I wasn’t a Kobe fan most of my life. In fact, I hated how he played and rooted for every team they went against until one finals series against the Celtics. I remember watching him play in the third quarter.. with the Celtic fans cheering wildly and all the energy in the room against him. He quietly put up 19 points,” he said.
MI also said he became a fan that night, adding that Kobe’s life would always stand as a “monument to greatness and excellence that are rooted in hard work and an unbending will to dominate.”
Investigators say the foggy weather might have played a major role in the crash.
