Super Eagles’ pre-World Cup camping appears to be a mere formality after head coach, Gernot Rohr, claimed he already knew his team heading to Russia.
Rohr invited 30 players to jostle out for a spot in his final 23-man squad to the World Cup.
The expectation was that the Franco-German would pick his team based on merit, dependent on the camping in Uyo.
However, the ex-Niger guardian has stated otherwise.
“I have in my head 20 of the 23 players going to Russia,” Rohr stated in an interview with media on Friday.
“Only 25 players will travel to England. The final list will be after the England match.
“When the final 23 is picked, we will work on set pieces. We have not had enough time so far.”
It appears Rohr will keep faith with a bulk of the squad that sealed qualification for the nation.
Meaning the last three spots could be a straight battle between Brian Idowu, Simeon Nwankwo, Tyronne Ebuehi, Ola Aina, Mikel Agu and Dele Ajiboye.
