Former Big Brother Naija housemate Adekunle Olopade has expressed regret over dating his colleague Venita Akpofure during their time in the All Stars edition of the reality show.
The pair began a romantic relationship in the house but split shortly after the show ended.
Speaking on a recent episode of his podcast, Deks & Friends, Adekunle disclosed that entering into a relationship on the show was not part of his original plan.
“If there’s anything I could change about my time in the house, it would be me getting into a ship. That wasn’t part of the plan,” he said.
While still in the house in 2023, Adekunle had written a heartfelt letter to Venita after her disqualification.
The letter, part of a sponsored task requiring finalists to write to evicted housemates, described Venita as the most emotional person he had ever met.
Venita Akpofure, a mother of two, previously had a high-profile marriage to businessman Terna Tarka.
The union ended in divorce in 2019 amid allegations of domestic violence and irreconcilable differences. Venita has since focused on raising her children and pursuing her career in entertainment.
The duo’s relationship on Big Brother Naija had drawn significant attention, with fans rooting for their romance. However, their post-show split and Adekunle’s recent remarks suggest the relationship may have been more complicated than it appeared.
