Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has assured leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that he is still a member of the party.
Fubara spoke on Tuesday when a delegation of the PDP board of trustees (BoT) led by the chairman Adolphus Wabara visited him in Port Harcourt.
“I want to thank the chairman and members of the board of trustees. Honestly speaking, if I was having any doubt about my membership first, of this great party, I think today, I have gotten a reconfirmation that I am still, not minding the drama around, a member of this party,” he said.
“And, I want to thank you for taking all the troubles to come to Rivers State to see the governor and the supporters of the party, genuinely. I need to use that word, genuinely, because we, that are here, are members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), undiluted.”
Fubara said he was happy to see some of the founding members of PDP like Bode George, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, and Okwesilieze Nwodo joining the delegation.
Fubara and his predecessor Nyesom Wike have been at loggerheads. While Wike is part of President Bola Tinubu’s APC administration, he remains a PDP member and had yet to be sanctioned over anti-party activities.
