I spend over N15m annually on strangers, Spyro laments

Singer Spyro has opened up about the significant financial burden of his generosity, claiming that he spends at least N100,000 daily on strangers who approach him for help.

Spyro revealed this in an Instagram post on Wednesday, highlighting the challenges that come with his acts of kindness.

According to the 34-year-old, on days when he steps out three times a week, his spending reaches N300,000, totaling approximately N1.2 million monthly and over N15 million annually.

Despite his consistent goodwill, Spyro recounted a bitter encounter with a stranger who insulted him when he was unable to give money at that moment.

He wrote, “If I enter restaurant, BILLINGS go de wait me outside. I enter church, same thing. Enter estate, same. Carry phone enter online, na same same.

“EVERYBODY wants to take, but nobody de give you, and nobody thinks of how you are fairing. 🤦🏾‍♂️ S/O to everyone of my colleagues out there going through this. Ya’ll are the real MVPs, and I CELEBRATE you. 🙏🏾”

In November, the singer known for his hit track ‘Who Is Your Guy,’ issued a stern warning to colleagues in the entertainment industry who owe him money.

Spyro accused the debtors of treating their obligations casually and declared that he would no longer tolerate their refusal to pay.

“I have been patient and extended grace, but my tolerance has reached its limit,” he stated in a post on his Instagram page.

He gave an ultimatum, urging defaulters to settle their debts or face public exposure.

Spyro also addressed misconceptions about his Christian faith, clarifying that his beliefs should not be mistaken for weakness. “Being a Christian doesn’t mean I will allow people to take me for granted,” he said.
