Lead pastor of Streams of Joy International and convener of online prayer meeting platform New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declaration (NSPPD) Jerry Eze has said that he thought it was a scam when the University of Nigeria (UNN) contacted him on the prospects of decorating him with the doctor of divinity honour.
Eze stated this in an Instagram post on Monday, praying for his followers that they would end the year with celebration.
He also thanked everyone for their kind words on the honour bestowed on him by the university.
“Thank You so much Family for your kind words and Greetings on the conferment of the Doctor of Divinity by the University of Nigeria,” he began.
“I truly thought I was been scammed when I was first contacted…but serving Jesus isn’t a scam! May we all end this year with Mega Congratulations in Jesus’ name!”
The cleric, who earned a bachelor’s degree in history and international relations at Abia State University (ABSU), was accompanied to UNN’s convocation ceremony by his wife Eno Eze.
In October 2023, Eze’s wife bagged a PhD in human resource management.
Celebrating the milestone on Instagram, Mrs Eze wrote, “My journey of three (3) years has finally ended and it ended in mega praise! It is official – Dr Eno Jerry (PhD; human resource management)…”
To her husband, she wrote, “My number one cheerleader, extremely supportive, the one who gives me the wings to fly before I ask, the most amazing @realjerryeze, thank you Buddy.”
Eze, at the time, said he was “super proud” of how she combined religious work, their home and her education.
