Actor Ibrahim Chatta has shared details of his challenging past, revealing that he once worked as a bus conductor for eight years and lived in a cramped room with nine other people.
Speaking on Biola Bayo’s Talk to B podcast, the movie star recounted his struggles, noting how tough it was to survive during those years.
He explained that he often walked long distances from Agege to Ikeja and worked as a conductor on different Lagos routes.
“I lived in a room with nine people, and it was difficult. I walked from Agege to Ikeja back then and later became a bus conductor. I did it for eight years, moving from Iyana Oba to Oshodi and Eko, working on different buses. I have worked so hard in life, and I pray God crowns my efforts,” he said.
Chatta’s dedication and contribution to the Yoruba film industry were recently recognised when his colleague, Odunlade Adekola, presented him with the Legend of the Year award.
Last month, the actor expressed gratitude after members of the Oyo State Police Force visited his film village.
In a video he shared, Chatta said the visit humbled him as they discussed community security, combating piracy, and ensuring proper use of movie props in the area.
