Singer Yemi Alade has said she was treated when she visited Uganda.
The 31-year-old made this statement in a tweet on Monday.
Her tweet comes after her colleagues Omah Lay and Tems were arrested by the Uganda Police for performing at The Big Brunch, which held at Speke Resort, Wavamunno Rd, Kampala, Uganda on December 12.
She pleaded for the release of the singers.
“I was in #Uganda last week, my team and I were hosted and treated well, please free @Omah_Lay and @temsbaby.”
Yemi had gone to Uganda ahead of the arrangements being made for the MTV Africa Music Awards set for February 2021.
She was welcomed by Ugandan saxophonist Michael Kitanda who serenaded her with some of her songs.
Yemi alongside Tiwa Savage have been nominated in the Best Female category for MAMA Awards.
