Radio personality and comedian Chinedu Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu Wazobia, has dismissed claims that he was fired as the host of the popular podcast The Honest Bunch.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Nedu addressed the speculation fueled by social media critic VeryDarkMan.

He clarified that his departure from the show was a personal decision rather than a forced removal.

“Every opinion shared on this platform is the opinion of the guest, not of the show itself, so everyone has the right to an opinion and right of reporting,” he said.

He further stated, “Let me straighten something out, I was not fired from The Honest Bunch, I was never fired. I decided to step away when the attacks became very personal so that the show can go on. I was not fired.”

Nedu’s statement follows allegations made by VeryDarkMan, who accused him of demanding sex in exchange for skit roles.

The social media personality also claimed he would release the names of ladies Nedu allegedly had relations with for roles, later going on to publish some names.

The allegations prompted further accusations from public figures like Saida Boj, Yvonne Jegede and Mr Nigeria Supranatural Ugo Nwokolo, who had all appeared on The Honest Bunch.

VeryDarkMan also alleged on Wednesday that Nedu was involved in NGO-related fraud.

Despite the mounting allegations, Nedu had remained silent until the press conference, where he finally addressed the situation.

“A lot of things have been going on left, right, and center, but I am going to say this: I am not one to indulge in petty exchanges of words, that’s not who I am. It has never been my style and it would never be my style to jab words with people on social media,” he said.

Nedu also stated that he had no regrets about inviting comedian DeeOne to the podcast, an invitation that sparked the controversy.

The issue began when DeeOne appeared on the show and alleged that VeryDarkMan was gay.

In response, VeryDarkMan accused Nedu of orchestrating the claim to smear his name after he refused to appear on the podcast.

Nedu’s team also hinted at the possibility of taking legal action against VeryDarkMan.
