President Muhammadu Buhari has said he would not name his likely successor when his administration winds up in 2023.
President Buhari said this on Tuesday while receiving members of the Progressive in Academics (Pro-Acad) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The group had asked him to start grooming a young person who would replace him when his second term tenure expires in 2023.
Buhari said that identifying anybody as his successor would create problems for him, warning that no one should think he can just become president overnight.
The president said it took him a lot of hard work and persistence to win a presidential election after three previous unsuccessful attempts.
He also blamed state governments for the condition of Almajiri system in the country.
