On-Air Personality and self-acclaimed scripture teacher Daddy Freeze has responded to the outburst of the founder of Salvation Ministries David Ibiyeomie.
Freeze in a 10-minute video posted on Instagram on Tuesday accused Ibiyeomie of racism, hate speech, threat to life and undermining broadcasting as a profession.
Ibiyeomie had said on Sunday during a sermon that he would “deal with” Freeze if he ever insults his “father” David Oyedepo again, calling the broadcaster a “bastard”.
In his response, Freeze said: “I was very devastated by that video because of the content thereof. I didn’t insult Bishop David Oyedepo. He quoted from the book of Ephesians 5:22 and I drew his attention to verse 21. Correcting scripturally is not an insult.
“I find it very devastating that just to get to me, Pastor Ibiyeomie would drag the whole Somalian nation. I’m very proud to associate myself with Somalians and Somalia because they are a beautiful people, beautiful Africans like you and I. It is hate speech to undermine them with derogatory words.”
Freeze drew the attention of the public and law enforcement agencies to the threat issued by Ibiyeomie to deal with him, saying “let it be on the record that you threatened my life”.
He also clarified that his mother was a European while his father a Nigerian but that he was proud to be associated to Somalia.
Freeze said he has been a proud broadcaster for the past 25 years, urging Ibiyeomie to apologise to journalists for undermining the profession.
The broadcaster vowed to continue countering whatever he regards as false doctrines from clerics.
