Actor Ibrahim Chatta has received widespread applause for his compelling performance in Lisabi, with many tipping him for major accolades at the next Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
This recognition follows the release of Lateef Adedimeji’s Lisabi: The Uprising on Netflix on Friday.
The film quickly sparked a surge of reactions on social media, where viewers praised not only Ibrahim’s remarkable talent but also his ability to connect with the audience in a raw and personal manner.
His portrayal in the film has garnered widespread admiration, with fans lauding his performance and predicting multiple award nominations for the upcoming season.
Ibrahim also took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes clip of himself and Lateef Adedimeji on set, dressed in their war costumes.
He captioned the post, “The biggest biopic film LISABI is here streaming on @netflixfilm.”
Lisabi is executive-produced by Lateef Adedimeji and directed by Niyi Akinmolayan. It is a collaboration between Al Notions Studios and Anthill Studios, with the story written by Niyi Akinmolayan and Yinka Olaoye.
The film is the first installment in an epic saga, with the sequel Lisabi: A Legend is Born scheduled for release in January 2025.
Lisabi’s star-studded cast includes Femi Adebayo, Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Itele Yekini, Mo Bimpe, Eniola Ajao, Liquorose Afije, Lateef Adedimeji and Ibrahim Chatta himself.
