LA Galaxy striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has received a two match ban for grabbing New York City FC’s goalkeeper, Sean Johnson, by the neck during a match between both sides last weekend.
The ban was announced in a statement by the MLS Disciplinary Committee.
Ibrahimovic and Johnson wrestled each other to the floor after coming together in the closing stages of Galaxy’s defeat last week before the striker grabbed the neck of his opponent.
Both players received a yellow card for the incident for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Recently, Zlatan was criticised for his unacceptable celebration during a match against Red Salt Lake.
Ibrahimovic scored the winner in the tie that ended at 2-1 between Los Angeles and Real Salt Lake at Dignity Health Sports Park.
Ibrahimovic turned and walked towards Salt Lake defender Onuoha, before celebrating and shouting right in front of his face.
