The suspended senior pastor of City of David Parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Idowu Iluyomade returned to social media on Saturday to pay tributes to his father Archdeacon Jonathan Iluyomade.
Iluyomade, also called PID, was suspended on June 1 for three months by the council of elders which is investigating some allegations against him.
The cleric was suspended over the church’s finances and his alleged resistance to be transferred from the parish.
Iluyomade was replaced by Pastor Charles Kpandei of the church’s Resurrection Parish, Region 11.
Prior to his suspension, Iluyomade and wife Siju were regular with their posts on Instagram particularly.
But the cleric’s last Instagram post was on May 26, the last Sunday in that month just before his suspension.
The post which was also shared on the church’s page shows Iluyomade and members of the church dancing as musician Frank Edwards sings.
“To the Great God, we offer our dance and thanksgiving,” the post read.
However, Iluyomade returned to the photo-sharing app on Saturday where he celebrated his father’s legacy.
His post read, “Today, celebrating the life and legacy of my Father, Ven. Archdeacon Jonathan Abiodun Iluyomade (Canon), a remarkable husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Your love and wisdom continue to guide us 15 years on.
“Your memory is cherished and your impact everlasting. Rest in the bosom of our God, beloved Daddy.
“You are Unforgettable, Remarkable, Exceptional, Illustrious, Phenomenal.”
