Social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM) has stated that he will not make any statements until popular crossdresser Bobrisky appears before the House of Representatives.

This was revealed in a viral video on Monday.

VDM previously arrived at the House of Representatives in eye-catching traditional attire to assist in investigating the ongoing scandal involving Bobrisky, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) officials.

During the chaotic session of the panel set up by the House, VDM expressed his frustration over Bobrisky’s absence at the probe.

When called to speak VDM said, “Today, I will not say anything because an invitation was extended to both me and Bobrisky. Since he’s not here, I won’t speak either, but my lawyer will.”

Some lawmakers suggested that VDM should be arrested by the sergeant-at-arms if he refused to testify, as he had already been sworn in. However, VDM stood firm, declaring, “If I say anything, let me die.”

VDM’s lawyer also emphasised that they had brought ample evidence, but insisted that “Bob must be present for it to be presented.”

Despite threats from the committee to use legislative powers to have him arrested, VDM maintained his silence.

His lawyer eventually persuaded him to address the committee, leading VDM to submit part of an audio recording as evidence.

In his testimony, VDM confirmed the authenticity of the widely circulated audio, explaining that it had come from someone to whom Bobrisky owed money.

According to the recording, Bobrisky allegedly paid N15 million to the EFCC to have money laundering charges dropped following his naira-spraying incident in April for which he had been sentenced to six months’ imprisonment.

The audio also suggested that Bobrisky had paid several million naira to secure favourable treatment in prison.

Bobrisky has since denied these allegations, while both the EFCC and the NCoS have launched investigations into the claims made by VDM.

Representing the EFCC at the hearing was Michael Nzekwe, chief of staff to EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyode while NCoS Controller-General Haliru Nababa was also in attendance.

The House of Representatives had previously summoned the EFCC Chairman, the NCoS Comptroller General, Bobrisky, VDM and all officials involved in Bobrisky’s case to assist in the ongoing investigation.
