Senate President Ahmad Lawan has appointed Senator Ifeanyi Ubah as member of the 56-man Senate constitution review committee.
Ubah confirmed his addition to the committee in a post on social media on Thursday.
He had earlier protested his non-inclusion as the only Senator from the Young Progressive Party (YPP).
“I cannot conclude without commending and expressing my gratitude to the Senate President; His Excellency, Dr. Ahmad Lawan for finding me worthy for this patriotic task; Your sweltering devotion to bequeath to our nation a National Assembly that works for all will be remembered by generations to come,” he said in the post.
The lawmaker added: “Conclusively, I wish to reiterate that my priority will always be to work for the betterment of public interest through robust, effective and detailed legislation to ensure that my people derive the dividends of democracy.
“I hereby call on my respected constituents to come forward with any ideas that will add value to our constituency in this very important constitution review deliberations.”
Ubah represents Anambra South Senatorial District.
