President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr Ifedayo Adetifa as the new director-general of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
Adetifa replaces Chikwe Ihekweazu who joined the World Health Organisation as assistant director-general.
Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu in a statement on Monday also said the president approved the setting up of a health sector reform committee.
“President Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr Ifedayo Morayo Adetifa as the new Director General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control,” part of the statement read.
Headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as chairman, the committee is expected to commence the development and implementation of a programme for Nigeria in collaboration with the state governments and the FCT administration.
