Super Eagles’ forward, Odion Ighalo, has equalled Changchun Yatai’s record for most goals scored.
The 28-year-old double in his club’s 2-1 victory over Shanghai SIPG took his tally to seven this season.
Overall, the Nigerian has contributed 22 strikes since switching from the Premier League last winter.
He thus equalled Marcelo Moreno’s exalted goal for the club.
The Bolivian scored 22 goals in 53 appearances for the Changchun outfit, with Ighalo matching that feat with lesser games after scoring the same number of goals from just 35 games.
The former Watford striker, who recently clocked a 100 career league goals notched 15 in his first season with the Chinese club.
He will definitely look to keep up his impressive form, having scored seven league goals already to better his last season tally of 15 league goals if he continues at this pace.
