Nigeria international Odion Ighalo visited his mother Martina Ighalo after the Super Eagles World Cup qualifier game against Cape Verde in Lagos on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old and his mother shared a warm embrace following his surprise visit.
The Al-Shabab forward was also treated to good food at his mother’s home.
“After a tough game I rushed home to surprise MAMA before I leave back to base,” Ighalo wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday.
The former Manchester United player rejoined the national team two years after announcing his retirement from international football.
Ighalo did not make the bench in the game against Liberia which the Eagles won 2-0 in Morocco; while he made his first start after his return in the game against Cape Verde. Ighalo was, however, replaced in the 78th minute by Kelechi Iheanacho.
