Manchester City striker, Wilfred Bony, has spoken out about his relationship with young teammate, Kelechi Iheanacho, at the Etihad.
Iheanacho attributes his smooth transition to the first team to the advice and tutorship received from the former Swansea striker.
The duo were both on target as Manuel Pellegrini’s side beat Hull 4-1 in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.
And Bony who is from Cote d’Ivoire is pleased to see his fellow African impressing in England and is ready to do all it takes to see him succeed.
He added that he takes the Nigerian young lad as his “brother” and is filled with joy each time he scores.
“I see him as my brother, because he has come from Africa like me,” Bony told the Manchester Evening News.
“So I give him lots of advice on how to handle pressure. We have things in common, so I talk to him a lot – he sits close so I see him every day.”
“It is good for me to push him to do it the right way,” said Bony. “He is a striker, so it is always good when he scores. It makes me happy as well.”
