Super Eagles youngster, Kelechi Iheanacho, has hailed the impact of new Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, since taking charge at the club.
Iheanacho, 19, was a revelation last season for the Citizens scoring eight times in just seven starts in the Premier League.
The forward notched a goal in every 94 minutes – an impressive return which made him the deadliest goalscorer in the league above the likes of Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy.
Now under the tutelage of former Barcelona and Bayern Munich gaffer, Guardiola, Iheanacho is hoping to continue that streak.
He rates the Spanish tactician highly and is so far impressed with his training style describing him as “good”.
“Guardiola is a good manager, everyone knows that,” he told Sky Sports on Monday.
“He’s bringing fresh thoughts and his own style. Everything is different and everyone is adapting to what he’s teaching us.
“We need to understand what he’s telling us and what he wants to bring to the team.”
Iheanacho notes that “it’s a different way of training” and when asked if he’s enjoying it, he jokes that “there’s nothing to enjoy about pre-season, you just have to work hard.
“I was happy with what I achieved last season and where I am today. But I have to keep working to improve every day and in every training session. I think I’m improving a lot. I just need to keep working to improve more and more. I want to make the fans proud.”
