Super Eagles youngster, Kelechi Iheanacho, may have missed the opportunity to impress new Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, after failing to travel with the squad for their first pre-season tour.
Iheanacho was spectacular last season for the Citizens scoring 14 goals in his debut campaign.
The 19-year-old is expected to carry on with his exploits under Guardiola who replaced Manuel Pellegrini this summer.
The Spanish coach named a 32-man travelling party for the tour to Germany and China with Iheanacho conspicuously missing due to visa hitches.
This latest setback may have hampered the Nigerian’s chances of showing off his skills for the first time in front of the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona coach.
He faces an added competition next term following the arrival of Spanish striker, Nolito and will be hoping to get a second look from Guardiola.
City had blocked Nigeria’s attempts to include Iheanacho in their Olympic squad, with Guardiola insisting on having the striker for pre-season, rather than taking part in the Rio Games.
The 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup revelation could yet be added to the squad for the games against Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund in Beijing and Shenzhen.
Let him report to the Olympic camp then!
