Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, has confirmed that Kelechi Iheanacho’s rival, Gabriel Jesus, could be out for the rest of the season.

Jesus, 19, joined City in January from Palmeiras and immediately blended with his teammates – scoring three goals in his first five games.

His superb run in the team has been at the expense of the Nigerian who hasn’t made the matchday squad since the Brazilian arrived.

However, a broken metatarsal against Bournemouth on Monday could pave for the 20-year-old Nigerian to get a look.

Ahead of City’s FA Cup fifth-round tie away at Huddersfield on Saturday, Guardiola admitted he’s unsure about the return of the striker.

“I don’t know if it’s the end of the season, next season. Now we must be calm, give our support to his family and wait for him to come back.

Asked if he will return this season, Pep added: “I don’t know. They say between two and three months.”
