It was a totally disappointing day at work for Super Eagles goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, on Saturday in the English Championship.
The 30-year-old who had kept clean sheets in his last three games, was sent-off as Wolverhampton Wanderers fell 3-1 to Norwich City at Carrow Road.
Helder Costa slotted a well taken penalty to cancel out Steven Naismith’s first-half goal to draw Wolves level.
However, Ikeme was shockingly shown a straight red card in the 72nd minute for fouling Wes Hoolahan with the resulting spot-kick converted by Robbie Brady.
Wolves finished the game with 10 men and an outfield player, Matt Doherty, in goal after Paul Lambert’s side had exhausted all three substitutions.
Jonathan Howson sealed victory for the home team in the 90th minute.
The defeat is Lambert’s first since taking charge of Wolves in November.
Norwich climbs to ninth on the log with 40 points while Ikeme’s Wolves with eight less, dropped to 18th.
