Prof. Anthony Agbazuere, chief of staff of Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, has lost his wife Onyinyechi Agbazuere.
Mrs Agbazuere died on September 4 after a brief illness. It was gathered that she had accompanied her husband to the New Yam Festival of her kinsmen, Ohuhu clan of Umuahia North Local Government Area where she and her husband were conferred with chieftaincy titles.
The deceased was reported to have recovered from an undisclosed ailment early this year.
Ikpeazu had suspended his chief of staff late last December following a video of him spraying cash in his office at controversial Onitsha-based cleric Prophet Odumeje. Agbazuere was reinstated in January.
Also, a former commissioner for sports in Abia Uche Mpamah died on Sunday.
He was reported to have recovered from an undisclosed illness some weeks ago before relapsing last week.
He was a member of Theodore Orji’s cabinet in Abia State. He hailed from Obuohia Ibere clan in Ikwuano Local Government Area.
