Former minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode on Tuesday vowed to continually defend the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations Prophet T.B. Joshua.
Mr Fani-Kayode paid eloquent tribute to the late cleric at the tribute service held at the church in Ikotun, Lagos.
Security was heightened on Tuesday around the church owing to the dignitaries who attended the tribute service. On Monday night, fire broke out at the church during the candlelight procession but was quickly put out.
Speaking at the tribute service, Fani-Kayode said, “I will always defend this man!”
The ex-minister is a vocal defender of Joshua. He stood in the clergyman’s defence severally while the latter was alive, calling on religious leaders in Nigeria to accept Joshua into their fold.
Last month, Fani-Kayode chided Pastor Chris Okotie when the latter described Joshua as the “wizard at Endor” in a scathing statement on Joshua’s death.
Fani-Kayode said he previously held Okotie in high esteem but that all of it had vanished.
