Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) Abike Dabiri-Erewa says she will miss the “fatherly advice and honest counsel” of the late politician and businessman Isma’ila Isa Funtua.
She stated this in a tweet on Tuesday in memory of Funtua who died on Monday night.
“RIP. Mallam Isa Funtua. I will miss his deep, honest counsel, fatherly advice. Forthright, wise and witty. Indeed a committed bridge builder. Quintessential gentleman,” Mrs Dabiri-Erewa wrote.
Funtua who was life patron of the International Press Institute (IPI) and the Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN) is said to have driven himself to a hospital where he suffered a heart attack.
He was a close associate of President Muhammadu Buhari.
