Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) Abike Dabiri-Erewa has expressed gladness at her decision not to seek re-election in 2015 while she was in the House of Representatives.
Mrs Dabiri-Erewa represented Ikorodu Federal Constituency from 2003 to 2015.
Doing a throwback on Instagram of her last campaign for the seat in 2011 under the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the NIDCOM boss said she was glad she did not return to the House.
“My last campaign for House of Reps 2011. So glad I took a voluntary, wise but tough political decision not to contest again after 3 terms in Parliament,” she wrote on Thursday.
It was not clear why Dabiri-Erewa made the rare comment about her political life. The commission she heads has been actively involved in rescuing Nigerian students from war-torn Ukraine.
