Singer Eedris Abdulkareem says he is in good spirit in spite of his diagnosis of kidney failure.
The 48-year-old stated this in a phone conversation with Qed.ng founder Olumide Iyanda on Wednesday.
Confirming his state of health, the ‘Nigeria Jaga Jaga’ singer said “it is true I have a kidney failure, but I am in high spirit. I am very positive and everything will be well Insha Allah.”
He added that he is overwhelmed by the show of love by Nigerians who have been praying for him since the news of his diagnosis broke.
The singer’s friend and colleague Myke Pam had earlier broken the news that Eedris had kidney disease.
Writing in a Facebook post on Wednesday, Myke Pam said the singer was undergoing dialysis in a Lagos hospital and is scheduled to have a transplant by the end of July.
He added that the kidney to be transplanted was donated by a family member.
