Nigerian singer, songwriter and actress, Omawumi, has said that her recent body exposure is intentional and is meant to serve her ‘current sound’.
The 37-year-old said this on Wednesday in a post on Instagram.
She explained that she became conservative with her appearance after she got married and became a mother.
Omawumi said her mother accused her of using handkerchiefs to sew her dresses when she began her music career.
“I remember when I started out in the industry… My dresses were so short, my mum would say I use handkerchiefs to sew my dresses! Over time, especially when I became a mom and a wife, I became conservative and ‘covered’ with my sense of style and music.
“Now you might ask…’what is she doing?’ My answer is my current look is intentional in connection to my current sound. ‘will it be permanent?’ – I don’t think so🤣🤣🤣…who knows?
“I’m just exploring my many sides and loving myself in the process….I’m just Omawonder,” the singer said.
Omawumi had in January celebrated the first anniversary of her traditional wedding to Yusuf.
They have been legally married since 2015 but only had their traditional ceremony in Warri, Delta State, in 2018.
The couple has two children.
