Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has declared that she is not 44 years old.
The actress, who celebrated her 38th birthday on Tuesday, stated this in an Instagram post on Thursday.
“Y’all should stop adding to my age. I’m not 44 years old. I never clock 40. Can’t be older than my elder ones. My elder sister is not even up to 44 years old so get your facts right,” she wrote.
The error in reporting Ms. Badmus’ age is easily traceable to her Wikipedia entry which states that she was born on September 7, 1977.
Speaking in an interview with Encomium magazine on her birthday in 2017, the Omo Ghetto actress said “I am 34 today. I thank God for all He has done in my life.”
She made similar clarification in 2016 when she was reported to be 39 years old.
“I’m not 39 years old,” she wrote in an Instagram post, before adding “Enjoyed every bit of my 33rd birthday.”
Eniola’s close friend Funke Akindele made similar clarification in August 2016 when Wikipedia listed her as 40 years old, but the actress stated that she was 39.
The free online encyclopedia also made an error in producer Don Jazzy’s age in 2015, saying he was 46.
It later corrected the error to reflect that the Mavin Records boss was 32 back then.
