Singer Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo popularly known as Blackface has said that he is not jealous of his colleague 2face Idibia.
The member of the defunct group Plantashun Boiz which 2face was a part of made this known in a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.
“I’m not jealous of 2face, why would I be jealous? 2face has always been the one everybody likes and I’ve had people throw that at me telling me ‘You know you have problems with him why you gonna have problems with him? Of course, we are going to have problems,” he said.
Blackface also revealed that he has never received a solo award from the music industry.
“No Nigerian or any award-giving body]has given me one award. I’m the one they don’t want to talk about, but it’s all good. I came into the music industry to make music for the fans. I did not come to the industry because I wanted to get rich.
“But as far as the people embrace the music, then who cares? I don’t worry about the media. I just make music for them. I talk about it; creepy agents everywhere. They are all creepy agents and I make music with them,” he said.
After Plantashun Boiz disbanded in 2004, he released the hip hop album Ghetto Child in May 2004 collaborating with a number of artists.
Blackface recently settled his feud with former band member 2face. Their feud began after Blackface accused 2face of allegedly recording the hit song ‘African Queen’ without giving him due credit.
The two singers were urged to bury the hatchet at a tribute organized in memory of Sound Sultan.
