Actor, singer and voiceover artiste Segun Arinze has debunked rumour that he was quitting acting.
The 58-year-old stated this in a message released by his management made available to QEDNG on Sunday.
Signed by Lauretha Eli on behalf of KLED Entertainment, the message reads in parts “It has come to our attention at KLED Entertainment & Management about some mischievous and callous rumour circulating on some platforms that our client Mr Segun Arinze said he is quitting acting due to some issues.
“Let it be known that at no point in time did Mr Segun Arinze say such or grant any interview.
“Please disregard the purported story it’s unfounded and baseless.
“Mr Segun Arinze is a talented actor, voiceover artist and entertainment consultant with years of experience and will continue to perform as an ACTOR and a FILMMAKER that he is.
“Kindly follow his activities on his social media platforms.”
Segun Arinze stated in a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo that he took a break from acting years ago because he was being typecast as a “bad boy”.
“There was a point I took a hiatus from acting when people were casting me in the role of a ‘bad boy’, and it was messing up my psyche,” he told his interviewer.
The former Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) president didn’t state what year(s) the hiatus took place but he is currently active on the acting scene.
