Former finance minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has expressed delight at her parents who voted on Saturday during the presidential and National Assembly elections.
In a tweet on Sunday, Mrs Okonjo-Iweala said she was proud of her parents, Professors Chukwuka Okonjo, 90, and Kamene Okonjo, 88, after the pair joined voters in exercising their rights.
“Proud that my father, Prof Chukwuka Okonjo the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku, and my mother, Prof Kamene Okonjo, exercised their right to vote at ages 90 and 88 respectively. The Obi enjoined all Nigerians to be peaceful…,” Okonjo-Iweala wrote.
The ex-vice president of World Bank also said that her parents called for peaceful polls.
