Nigerian-American actress Yvonne Orji has revealed that she is still a virgin at 39.
The Insecure star disclosed this in a recent episode of the Dear Chelsea podcast by Chelsea Handler which has since gone viral.
When Chelsea asked Yvonne if she is still a virgin, the actress said yes, adding that she is keeping her virginity for her future husband.
“Are you still a virgin?” Chelsea asked the actress on the podcast.
“I am,” the Abia State actress responded.
Yvonne also asked listeners to pray for her future husband because the wait has left her with a great deal of “pent-up energy.”
“Let me tell you right now…pray for him, whoever he is; ya’ll need to pray for him because there’s a lot of pent-up energy up in here,” the actress said.
Chelsea added that she may “need a couple of men” when the time comes and the actress, who played Molly in Insecure, responded with a joke saying, “Yvonne went from being a virgin to polyamory.”
Many fans commented on how hard it is to believe Yvonne is still a virgin especially because of the many sex scenes the actress had in the HBO series. However, she revealed in 2021 that the costume designer on the hit show gave her a rundown about how to make the scenes come across as believable.
Yvonne who is also a stand up comedian, first revealed that she was a virgin in a 2017 interview with People.
“I wasn’t going to hide it just because I’m on TV. I’m grounded in who I am,” she said.

“Before any of the fame happened, I sat down with myself and with God and thought, ‘When I make it, how do you want me to represent you while I’m here?’ It was like, ‘OK, I know why I’m here. It’s to make you proud.”
Yvonne said she has received lots of questions about her virginity over the years.
“People ask about it because they’re curious or they may not understand,” she said. “How will they ever understand if I don’t talk about it? I can inform your curiosity, as opposed to everyone being in the dark and just sort of creating their own narrative about it,” she said.
