The legal team of presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 23 election, Atiku Abubakar, has said that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is refusing to release polling documents as directed by the tribunal.
A member of the team, Silas Onu, told journalists on Wednesday that INEC has continued to deny them access to the materials which had been inspected and paid for in the previous week.
Mr Onu said the team might be forced to file for contempt against INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, and other officers of the commission if they insist on holding back the documents.
Meanwhile, spokesman of INEC, Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, said the claims are not true but that PDP can file a complaint if it wishes.
